Apartments in Palomar -- A Suburban Feel, But Close to Urban Conveniences
Located on Lexington's southwestern side, Palomar sits just to the west of where Man O War Boulevard curves around to the north and just north of Highway 68. Even though this area doesn't even take up half a square mile, there are plenty of big reasons to rent an apartment in Palomar.
- It's off the beaten path, but not TOO far off
If you don't like living in the hustle, bustle, and congestion of a major city -- but still want to be close to all of those big-city conveniences -- you'll be happy to learn that Palomar offers the best of both worlds. This area is much less congested than neighborhoods to the east, and since there isn't a major mall here, the traffic isn't as heavy.
However, that doesn't mean that your Palomar will be out in the sticks! Highway 68 gives you direct access to Downtown Lexington and the University of Kentucky, while Man O War Boulevard will take you east to Richmond Road, Tates Creek Road, and I-75. In a matter of minutes, you can be in Lexington's busiest areas -- but you'll be able to come home to lots of peace and quiet!
- A slightly older crowd
By living further out from the University of Kentucky, you won't have to worry about having a bunch of rowdy college kids for neighbors. At last count, the average age in Palomar was right around 40 -- so your neighbors will likely be established professionals who are well beyond frat parties. In fact, this is a popular area for married people, so if you're looking for a place where you and your significant other can meet other couples, this is a great place to do it.
- Very new homes
Lexington is home to some great history, but if you want an apartment that's got all of the most modern bells and whistles, you'll want to take a long look at Palomar. Most of the residences here were built after 1990, so you can expect to find all of the amenities you want.
- Trendy dining choices
Because this neighborhood is new and popular amongst professionals, there are plenty of trendy places to eat. For example, Wild Eggs is wildly popular with the locals because it serves great brunch and vegan dishes. Or, if you and your friends can't decide on a place to eat, head to Harry's in Palomar Centre -- where you can order off either the Malone's menu or the Aqua menu.
